Pinholes in concrete retaining wall.
This is a method that can easily and cleanly treat pinholes that tend to appear the more inclined the surface is.
↓Condition before construction
There are pinholes all over.
As a basic procedure,
Fill ⇒ Scrape ⇒ Rub
it’s ok to just.
However, there are a few tips and requirements in the process.
■Fill in
Material requirements
・ It is a fine-particle repair material (it is better if it does not contain large aggregates).
・It is a bright colored repair material.
・It is a repair material that does not easily efflorescence.
Tips
・Adjust the water absorption (so that the water in the repair material is not absorbed by the base)
・If there are many pinholes, it is easier to match the color by painting the whole instead of painting one by one.
・Because the material becomes thin due to hardening, apply it with a little heaping up.
■Scrape
・Use a cutter blade type scraper.
・Scrape off the material before it completely hardens.
(Even if it’s too early, it’s no good)
・Remove the material completely until the concrete surface is visible.
■Rub
・Use waterproof paper #600.
・ Rub after the material is completely hardened.
・Use the entire palm of your hand to rub from one end to the other.
If you are conscious of these things, I think that most pinholes will be repaired cleanly.
The actual procedure
① Apply a cation 10-fold or more diluted solution (Royal W21) to the construction surface to adjust water absorption.
*Be careful as the color will remain if it is too dark!
② Softly knead the repair material (Repair Resin #45 white) in a Rubber Bowl.
③ Use a 5mm thick metal trowel to evenly coat the entire surface.
④ Apply the material so that the pinholes are slightly raised.
⑤ Scrape off the material with a scraper while watching the timing when the color of the painted part starts to change.
⑥ When completely hardened, rub evenly with #600 paper.
In most cases this is the end.
But this time I tried to do a little better.
⑦Spray C Repair Color #2 gray all over (twice).
⑧ Overall patterning with a Patter pad (Tone Color black)
